Cambodia: Khmer People

On my recent photography tour in Cambodia, we met many friendly Khmers in the village of Kampong Khleang and in the morning market in Siem Reap.
It helped immensely that our wonderful teacher, Karen Lucas, had visited both places before and brought printouts of photos from last year. Our walk around the village became a quest to track down people in those photos (or relatives and friends of them) and naturally many were keen to have their own photos taken. Long sign-language conversations ensued, and the power of a smile and a wave should never be underestimated.
Sadly, many children roamed the streets when clearly they ought to have been in school.
