Night in the Mountains

You made it. Your feet are sore and your hiking boots caked with dried mud. It’s pure bliss when they come off.
The food they serve in the hut tastes wonderful, although it’s mostly things you normally dislike.
After you have unpacked your sleeping bag, and put it on the narrow part of the shelf that’s supposed to be your bed for the night, you pull on your sweater and step outside the hut.
Ragged peaks rise up in front of you. Far away, far below, city lights sparkle at the end of a lake.
The sun is setting. The sky is red and orange and yellow. The peaks turn black.
You take deep breaths. The air is thin. You’re at the top of the world and anything is possible. Dizzy, you close your eyes.

Where do you go from here?
